Welcome, friends and supporters of the Zanesville Blue Devil Football Program.  We are excited to roll out our new site to all of our Blue Devil fans in cyberspace.                       

Thank you for your support over the years.  The team and coaches have been hard at work in preparations for the upcoming season.  Coach Grandstaff & the QB Club Officers would like to invite you to continue your support of the Blue Devil Football Program

The Zanesville Quarterback Club would like to express our deepest sympathies to all family and friends of Connie Strickler. Connie, who has been the longtime athletics department secretary at Zanesville High School passed on Sunday, January 8th. She fought a long and very courageous battle against cancer, and it was her unbreakable will and spitirt during her fight that has been a inspiration to so many.

With the help of everyone in 2011, the Quarterback Club was able to continue our yearly overall support of the Blue Devil Football Program.. As we close 2011 and head into 2012, there is a fantastic group of young men returning who are very anxious to continue their climb up the ladder of success.. The Zanesville Quarterback Club would like to express our most sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Chuck Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds, who had been in hospice, passed away today (12/6/11) at the age of 90. Chuck was a tremendous supporter of ZHS athletics, especially, and worked hard to help raise funds for ZHS programs. To that end, Patty Reynolds (daughter-in-law) was quoted this morning as saying that his last understandable words were, “Go Blue.”

In memory of a teammate and a brother…

A fund has been set up at Century National Bank for donations to purchase a bench in memory of Grant Hickman that is to be placed at Sulsberger Stadium when it is completed. Contributions can be made at any branch or to the following address:

The ZanesvilleQuarterback Club is also accepting donations for anyone that wishes to contribute in memory of Grant Hickman. Stadium Entry Walkway & Wall of Pride

In 1998, the main entrance to John D. Sulsberger Memorial Stadium was reconstructed with a brick entryway augmented by wrought iron work. As part of the project, the ZHS Quarterback Club sold engraved bricks that have been placed along the walkway inside the main entrance.

Blue Devils fans know the legend — John Sulsberger once pointed out to his football teammates where a nice stadium could be built on the ZHS campus — and that’s exactly where one was built following his tragic death in 1963. On Aug. 28, 2009, prior to the Blue Devils’ game with Newark, a special donor recognition area was dedicated and it includes a life-sized statue of John Sulsberger, created by local sculptor Alan Cottrill.
